Cemre Yeşil is a Turkish photographer living in Istanbul. Her BA is in photography and she holds an MA in visual arts from Sabanci University.
Her work has been exhibited and published internationally including the Guardian; Colors Magazine; International Centre of Photography New York; British Journal of Photography; Istanbul Modern Museum; Salt Beyoğlu.
Her latest book Hayal & Hakikat is shortlisted in Paris Photo Aperture Photobook Awards 2020 for the Photobook of the Year Category. The 2015 British Journal of Photography – Ones to Watch issue introduced Yesil amongst the 25 most promising new talents in a global survey of emerging photographers.
A selection from her An/other series is in Istanbul Modern Museum’s photography collection.
Currently she lectures on photography in Falmouth University MA Photography and Istanbul Bilgi University BA Visual Communication Design.
Yesil has had a number of solo exhibitions along with many duo exhibitions with Maria Sturm in 2016 and 2017 with the work For Birds’ Sake and other duo exhibitions with Alice Caracciolo in 2017 and 2018 with the work Piet[r]a. She is working on her forthcoming publication titled Double Portrait.
Cemre Yeşil is the founder of FiLBooks; a space dedicated to photo books, artist talks and workshops which in 2017 became a publishing house in Karaköy, Istanbul.
