Fernando Martin Godoy

Fernando Martin Godoy is a visual artist, whose work revolves around the mystery of daily life, geometry and the boundaries between truth and fiction.

Godoy studied for his BA in Fine Arts at The Complutense University of Madrid and now lives and works in London.

Recently Godoy's work has expanded into a multi-discipline format, in particular employing photo collages made from found materials such as original black and white photographic plates from old books discovered in second hand bookshops and boot sales. Made using traditional methods of scissors, scalpel, paper and glue, his images show simple, timeless landscapes and constructions that speak about power and the human trace in the landscape.

Godoy has had a number of solo shows including at Mustang Art Gallery, Elche; Galería Utopia Parkway, Madrid and UNIT3, ASC Studios, London. His work is held in collections across Spain including in the regional parliament of La Rioja; Municipality of Zaragoza; Kells Collection, Santander and the Museum Pablo Serrano, Zaragoza.
