About the Artists
Tegen Kimbley is a documentary photographer and filmmaker based in the Black Country. She graduated from The University of South Wales in 2018. Exploring manmade environments Tegen documents the people and objects that inhabit them, creating narratives around the everyday and over-looked. Through considered composition, she attempts to generate dialogue around current environmental, social and economic issues, whilst creating a sense of atmosphere and place.
Jinni Sur is a photographer from Leicestershire who engages with diverse photographic styles and environments. Starting in 2021, her hobby evolved into a creative practice. She works with 35mm and medium format film, focusing on presence and connection. Jinni explores analogue photography’s conflicting nature, creating space for slowness while reading her surroundings alertly. Her experimental work with film negatives and darkroom processes aims to inspire introspection. Her next project involves portraits exploring identity nuances in Britain.
