We are inviting publishers, rare photobook traders, magazine dealers, independent publishers, equipment dealers, and everything in between to register their interest in taking part in the FORMAT27 Photobook Market.

The market will take place from 12–14 March 2027, over the opening weekend of FORMAT27, in the historic Derby Market Hall. With PLAY as our theme, we’ll explore the possibilities of the photobook while showcasing bold new voices and seminal publishers.

As with all our Photobook Markets, the space will be an opportunity to meet publishers face to face and pick up books directly from the artists. As part of the market, we will also be hosting a free public programme revolving around our theme of PLAY, which will take the form of workshops, artist talks, and more.

The FORMAT27 Photobook Market is one of the key events taking place during the opening weekend of the festival. With stalls located in an established Market Hall, it offers an opportunity to engage with a wide audience of festivalgoers and market visitors.

Additionally, all participants will be invited to join us for our launch events and after-parties running throughout the launch weekend.

A range of stall options will be available, including full tables, half tables, double tables and barrows. All prices include hire for the entire weekend and two chairs.

All prices are inclusive of VAT. A 20% discount on hire options is available to students and student groups.

Applications are open from 19 October–15 November 2026. Successful applicants will be notified within 10 working days of the application deadline.

Following the selection process, successful applicants will be notified and invoiced by QUAD using the contact and billing details provided in the application form. Payment will be requested once your place has been offered.
