Alexandra Lethbridge is a photographer born in Hong Kong and based in the UK. She graduated from the University of Brighton with a Masters in Photography having graduated from the Winchester School of Art, UK and International Centre of Photography, New York.
Found photographs, archival imagery and constructed images form the basis of Lethbridge’s research-based practice. Drawing upon a range of references and source material, she combines scientific theories with fictional images, bringing them together in a visual narrative.
Her work has been exhibited widely with recent exhibitions including Unseen Festival, Amsterdam; Fotofestiwal, Lodz; Cork Photo Festival, Ireland; and Christie’s Auction House, London. She was a finalist for the ING Unseen Talent Award 2017; Fotofestiwal Lodz 2017, and selected as a winner for Flash Forward Magenta Foundation; Format Festival Affinity Award and the Denton’s Art Prize.
Her work has been featured in magazines and online publications including 1000 words Magazine; GUP; Yet Magazine; Foam Talent; HotShoe; Wired Magazine and The Daily Telegraph.
