Emily Berl attended college at Boston University where she graduated with a B.S. in Photojournalism and a B.A. in Art History.
After college, Emily began her photography career as a news and feature photographer in New York before relocating to Los Angeles where she works as a freelance portrait and documentary photographer for clients including The New York Times, National Geographic, The Hollywood Reporter, Wired, Refinery29 and Bloomberg Businessweek.
Her first monograph Marilyn, was published 2018 by publisher Sturm & Drang and exhibited at Curve Line Space, Los Angeles, CA. Berl has also exhibited at The Centre for Photography, Woodstock.
