Georgia Gadsby is a fine art photographer, specialising in analogue practices based in Derby, UK. Her photography and research so far have covered a variety of themes such as feminism, memory, archive and trauma. Creating work in consideration to her own experiences as well as her family’s life stories too. She is passionate about using the act of photography to explore times past, in the form of reflection and investigation. In her short career so far, Georgia has worked alongside FORMAT International Photography Festival as an Intern for the 2020-2022 programmes. Developing professional skills alongside studying for a BA (Hons) Photography Degree from the University of Derby. During which she was awarded the Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean’s Award,FORMAT22 Graduate Award, Foundation Derbyshire Award, The Linda Swanson Memorial Prize, Winner of the ‘Biggest Rep Success’ during the university union awards and was an AoP Student Award Finalist. Georgia’s work has been exhibited as part of the W3 Exhibition 21, Unlocked and Derby Book Festival, which also included a publication feature.
