Nina Röder studied Media Art and Design, majoring in photography, at the Bauhaus University in Germany. Since graduating Röder has focused her photography on revealing the hidden and unconscious structures of personal and biographical stories. She combines aspects of the theatre, stage and performance into a playful concoction of fiction and reality.
Her work has been shown in international festivals including Obscura Festival, Malaysia; Goa Photo Festival, India; European Month of Photography, Berlin; Voies Off Festival, Arles and Athens Photo Festival, Greece.
Röder has also exhibited widely including at the Gallery Eigenheim, Berlin; Gallery Burster, Berlin; Verge Gallery, Sydney, Australia and the New York Photo Festival, Powerhouse Arena, Brooklyn.
In 2018, Röder won the Lensculture Exposure Award and has been Artist in Residence at Chateau de la Napoule, France; The Studio at Santa Maria, Rignana, Italy; Pinea Art Space, Spain and Listhus Artspace, Iceland.
