Aisling Ward (she/her)

Aisling Ward is an artist, curator and researcher, interested in working collaboratively to generate dialogues surrounding labour, class, social and material histories, choreo-politics and care. Aisling is dedicated to art that demonstrates care and social engagement, she advocates for the importance of experimenting outside of institutional frameworks through alternative, accessible and non-hierarchical methods of production.
Aisling has worked in a curatorial capacity with New Midland Group, Artcore Gallery, Deptford X Festival & Backlit Gallery. Recent curated exhibitions include ASTRAL VILLAGE sloooowwww – Roo Dhissou & Sahjan Kooner, Riverlights, Derby, Playground – DARP, and Get the Dark Out – Lisa Selby & Dudley, Artcore Gallery, Derby.
Aisling is an alumni of the University of Edinburgh, where she received a first class MA (Hons) degree in Fine Art & Art History in 2020. She has received numerous awards for her work, including the RSA Friends Award, the University of Edinburgh Purchase Prize 2020 and RSA New Contemporaries 2020.
