Lucia Bláhová studied advertising photography at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications of Tomas Bata University, Zlin in Czech Republic.
Bláhová started documenting Wallachian Roma women in Romania during her studies and the project entitled Vrăjitoare was exhibited in the Centre of Contemporary Art DOX in Prague, the Central European House of Photography in Bratislava and Fiducia gallery in Ostrava.
Her book The Women Selling Hope, made in collaboration with ethnologist Ivana Šusterová, has been exhibited in the Benaki Museum during the Athens Photo Festival and at Les Rencontres D’Arles.
