Mark Duffy

Mark Duffy first obtained his degree in Photography from the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art Design & Technology Ireland before moving to London in 2007, where he has been documenting the gross and gaudy of the city ever since.

He is particularly interested in how society manifests itself through visual media in public spaces and by appropriating and decontextualizing the signs, symbols and textures he encounters, his work captures the haphazard aesthetic character of modern urban life.

Duffy’s photography has been exhibited widely including as part of the Uniglo Tate Lates projection series at the Tate Modern, at Peckham 24, London; Roscommon Arts Centre, Ireland; Seoul Lunar Photo Fest, South Korea; Kaunas Photo festival, Lithuania and Triennale der Photograhie Hamburg, Germany.

His book, Vote No 1 won the Vienna Photobook Award and in 2014 he was presented with the FORMAT14 Portfolio Review Award.
